DEAR MODS

Please approve my husband, texhooper , for ONTD membership. He has been rejected several times now, even though he has done things like add us to his friends list, write a few journal entries so you know he's not a troll, and list celeb gossip as an interest. He would be a really great, low drama member who would contribute frequently with comments and posts. Plus, may I point out that this would be good affirmative action karma -- as a straight man, he DOES represent a minority viewpoint here. Pretty please with a cherry on top?? Thanks in advance! Love, Kate

5 Oscar Nominees for Animated Short Film

I posted this as a comment in the FFA Sports, but it occurred to me that people might enjoy it as its own post.

I hate watching the Oscars and a category comes along featuring 5 movies I've never heard of or seen. So here are each of the nominees for Best Animated Short Film, courtesy of YouTube.

Lavatory - Lovestory by Konstantin Bronzit
<lj-embed id="11" />

Source: www.youtube.com/watch

Oktapodi by Emud Mokhberi and Thierry Marchand
<lj-embed id="12" />

Source: www.youtube.com/watch

Presto by Doug Sweetland (This is the one probably the most of you have seen.)
<lj-embed id="13" />

Source: www.youtube.com/watch

This Way Up by Alan Smith and Adam Foulkes
<lj-embed id="14" />

Source: www.youtube.com/watch

La Maison en Petits Cubes by Kunio Kato
Unfortunately, I could only find a 30 second clip of this one. The synopsis according to oscar.com is: In a world gradually flooding with water, an old man adapts to changing circumstances and looks back on his life.

<lj-embed id="15" />

Source : www.youtube.com/watch

Source for list of films: www.oscar.com/nominees/index
What do you think, ONTD? Which is your favorite? Which do you think will win the Oscar? Which one deserves to win? Personally I think Presto will win, as the Academy loves Pixar, but I absolutely adore Oktapodi.
